With just Six thoughtfully designed rooms, each with an attached bathroom, Red Panda Outpost remains true to its origins—modest yet inviting, intimate yet unpretentious. The heart of this space is the old wooden house, where guests gather every evening around a bukhari-fire over wholesome, home-cooked meals, sharing stories while sipping on local millet liquor - tongba, as the wind carries echoes of distant trails.

Here, comfort meets simplicity. Reliable electricity, heating, and hot water ensure a restful stay, while the ever-changing landscapes beyond your window invite quiet contemplation. Wake to the call of the thrushes, set out on mist-laden trails, and return to the warmth of a space that feels like home.
We believe food is a way to experience the culture of a place. In line with our vision at Pugdundee Safaris, there is a strong focus on fresh, seasonal produce and local ingredients. Breakfast includes a spread of healthy options, along with a selection of fresh fruit, freshly brewed orthodox tea and moka pot coffee. For lunch each day, a comforting Nepali thali is served, incorporating regional flavours and recipes inspired by tea gardens and plantations that dot the neighbouring areas and the mountain town of Darjeeling. Dinner includes a spread of regional favourites, Indian and global options. Guests can sit down to a sumptuous meal that includes appetizers, soup and an optional main.
We have eliminated use of all single use plastic, tetra packs, and ready-to-eat foods, in line with our ethos of sustainability and our commitment to preserving the natural beauty of this fragile ecosystem.

At Red Panda Outpost, we welcome those who seek more than just a place to stay - those who long for the silence of the mountains, the camaraderie of the trail, and the rare privilege of walking among these rare, endangered creatures. Whether you come seeking the red panda or hope to discover the abundance of endemic flora and fauna unique to this region, our outpost offers you a front-row seat to the magic of Singalila National Park and the surrounding region.
